When we visited Skye in July, the Highlands was having one of it’s hottest spells of weather for quite a while. So much so in fact, that the river that the Talisker Distillery uses as a water source had all but dried up and they virtually had to stop whisky production. Unheard of. We did the tour which was an absolute must. Never any doubt about that. It was like stepping back in time and for a couple of hours, we were lost in the admiration and sheer genius of the people that set the wheels in motion here. They’ve never stopped since (well, apart from ‘that’ fire) and that’s saying something.
