Nothing to do with pirates, a haar is a traditional Scottish (East Coast only?) term used to describe sea fog. In this instance, on Loch Broom, individual bands of fog kept on rolling in from the sea creating low lying trails of wispy, captivating cloud. The locals still called it a haar. Go figure…
