flying…with some help
by matt
Last Sunday we went to see the Flying Scotsman steaming across the Ribblehead Viaduct. Sadly, the beautiful and iconic engine wasn’t in steam due to fire risk (the UK is seriously parched at the moment with a long lasting heatwave) so it was assisted by a diesel locomotive. We, and dozens of others, were very pleased to see some boiler action though, as the majestic machine passed over the huge viaduct to cheering and waves from the onlooking spectators and enthusiasts. The hulking presence of Ingleborough towering behind it made quite a nice backdrop for a photo.
