I discovered Google’s PhotoScan app a little while ago, so I tried it out to save me taking ages photographing 35mm negatives using my DSLR + macro lens combo. It’ doesn’t produce high resolution images which are super sharp, but for a quick and dirty way to digitise analogue photos – it’s not too shabby. The app takes one photograph of the colour photo print, then takes another four at each corner of the print to mathematically remove any glare or reflection. Clever stuff…
