A few weeks back, I posted a snap taken using the x100 of a very foggy scene on the edge of Ilkley Moor early one morning. I also had the Makina with me, and I finally got round to developing and scanning the four shots that I took on Ilford HP5 on that same early morning using it. Here they are. I think these are by far my favourite photos taken on HP5 to date. I’ve never been a huge fan of this film. I’ve had mixed results using it previously – I usually always end up feeling a bit disappointed with the lack of punch and flat look, but the foggy and moody atmosphere here seemed to lend itself so well to the lovely tones that this film yields, with the slight contrast boost from pushing it two stops to 1600. Developed in Kodak HC110 dilution B.
