To get to the finish of the Tour de France in Harrogate, we parked the car at the wonderful RHS Harlow Carr gardens and walked through the woods, down into Valley Gardens and into the masses. We’re lucky enough to have the Harlow Carr ‘Grand Fromage’ gardener as a friend, so on the way back, we had a private tour of the gardens. Nobody else was there. The sun was out. It was quiet. It was serene.
