This room in Fountains Abbey, North Yorkshire, is called The Cellarium and it’s where the resident monks stored their food and provisions. The vaulted ceiling is absolutely spectacular. Not an awful lot of light gets in so to take a half decent shot, you really need to keep the camera super steady (at least of you want to try and get a reasonable amount of sharpness). I propped my camera on a rug and took a few shots. I’m not completely happy with the final result but it’s not bad. You can at least get an idea of the atmosphere. I continue to suffer from the problem commonly known to photographers as ‘takethetripoddon’tuseitdon’ttakethetripodwishIhadit’. That’s a big hash tag…
