c41 limits?

by matt

Around last Christmas I shot a role of cheap consumer grade C41 film two stops under exposed and asked the lab that I use to over develop it by two stops. A lot of black and white films can cope with this quite easily.Usually, you get brighter whites and darker darks. Some colour film responds okay to this too, but with less desirable effects. Kodak Gold is cheap 200 ASA film. Pushing it two stops seems to increase colour saturation and increase grain, but it’s not too shabby overall. This image, and the preceding few, were all shot and developed this way. A fun test to make.
