This photograph shows the site of where the village of Alassa once was in Cyprus. The local authority decided to build a reservoir here so the entire village moved further up the hill and was rebuilt. You can see the Kouris dam at the far left of the picture. The church appears at certain times of the year or when the water level fluctuates dramatically. This seems to be the only visible evidence that the original village ever existed. Pretty eerie site.
