The negatives and scans of five rolls of black and white arrived through my letterbox this morning. I’m totally thrilled at the results. One roll of Kodak Tri-X 400 and four rolls of Ilford HP5. All taken on my recently purchased Olympus OM2n. Most photos were under exposed by two stops, but in bright light I tried over exposing by one stop. All five rolls were over developed by two stops by AG Photolab. I’m determined to use the OM2n for more of this style of photography which is basically – (1) have it with me all the time and (2) take photos of anything. It’s addictive. These films have so much latitude and tolerance which makes them perfect for all sorts of different lighting conditions. Let’s start with some photos of a night out in Bristol a couple of weeks ago.

The LX-100 can be remotely controlled by a smartphone app. It really is a clever little camera and is capable of some brilliant photographs. I took this while operating my phone in my left hand to take the photo of me [pretending] to take a photo with the Makina. It’s one of the few selfies you’ll get on this blog! What you can’t see is the drop on the other side. Cold hands, a slippery phone and a substantial drop onto Yorkshire gritstone is a risky combination.
