I really enjoy running several of my D90 and LX-100 photos through some\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mframes.org\/photo\/tag\/film-emulation\/\" target=\"_blank\">film emulation<\/a>\u00a0software. I think that brought me to a point where I knew I needed to take the next step.\u00a0A few weeks ago, and after quite a bit of research and trawling through eBay, I took the plunge and bought a used Olympus OM-1. Considering it was made in 1972, it is absolutely mint. And I love it. To increase my chances of taking reasonable photographs with it, I bought a Sekonic L398-A light meter. Between the two of them they need no batteries. All I need is a supply of\u00a0user replaceable sensor material [also known as 35mm film], a more considered approach to taking my photographs, and I&#8217;m away. I&#8217;m lucky enough to have a local shop that can develop the film for me too, so I&#8217;m all set. I&#8217;ve created\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mframes.org\/photo\/film\/\" target=\"_blank\">this page<\/a>\u00a0where you can find thumbnails and links to the film photos that I&#8217;ve scanned and blogged. It&#8217;s all a learning curve. Forcing me to slow down to take a photo instead is very refreshing.
